Meeting of the Inter National Joint Commission held at Rome
Submitted by dnjerry on Thu, 2011-02-03 01:58VATICAN CITY: The 8th meeting of the International Joint Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Oriental Orthodox Churches were held at Vatican, Rome from 25-29th January 2011. The delegates had a meeting with H.H. Pope Benedict XVI on Friday, 28th Jan. Archbishop of Mount Lebanon & Secretary of holy Episcopal synod, Mor Theophilose George Saliba and Metropolitan of MSOTS, President of Ecumenical Secretariat of MJSOC, & Patriarchal Vicar of Middle Europe, Dr. Mor Theophilose Kuriakose represented the Syrian Orthodox Church. Archbishop Mor Theophilose Saliba presented a Paper on "The Communion and Communication that Existed between the Churches until the mid-fifth century of the of the Christian History, as well as the Role Played by Monasticism " while Dr. Mor Theophilose Kuriakose presented a Paper on the " Communion and Communication between the St. Thomas Christians of India and Other Churches till mid-fifth Century A.D - A Syrian Orthodox Perspective".
