Feast of the Ascenscion

On June 2, 2022, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo on the occasion of the Feast of the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ to heaven, at St. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Mor Aphrem Monastery, Maarat Saydnaya.Their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Yacoub Babawi, Patriarchal Vicar for Monks Affairs and the Administration of Mor Aphrem Theological Seminary in Maarat Saydnaya, and Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, assisted His Holiness in the Holy Qurobo.In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ as it is mentioned in the gospels of St. Mark and St. Luke, following the apparitions to His disciples where He taught them things related to the kingdom of heaven. He added that the Lord promised His disciples to remain with them preparing them to be witnesses of His resurrection and gospel. He was teaching the apostles His commandments and how to be disciples in word and deed. On the occasion of the eighth anniversary of his enthronement as Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church, His Holiness thanked God for His grace and blessings and thanked the faithful who congratulated him on the occasion. He prayed and asked the Lord to bless His flock and he asked the faithful to pray for him.
