Holy Qurobo at Mor George Church in Pau

On October 29, 2021, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo at st. Georges Church in Pau, France.He was assisted by their Eminences Archbishops: George Kourieh, Patriarchal Vicar in Belgium, France and Luxembourg, and Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs, as well as Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, who attended the Holy Qurobo.In his sermon, His Holiness assured the parishioners that, though they are remote and away from the center, are close to the heart of the patriarchate. He added that most of them have come to this country after being persecuted in their homeland; he thanked the country which welcomed them and gave them the opportunity to live with dignity. He explained that Christianity calls for tolerance and love of all, even our enemies. He encouraged the faithful to continuously try to live according to the commandments of Christ; he addrd that our presence in the weet is an opportunity to revive the Christian faith. He emphasized the necessity to preserve our oriental traditions despite the use of developed scoence and technology. His Holiness hoped that the members of the church will be like the leaven in their societies, or like salt that adds a special favour to the society and light that guides others to spiritual life which elevates man from the greed of the world towards love, compassion and openness to all people.
