Ecumenical Vigil Prayer at St. Peter Square in the Vatican

On September 30, 2023, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II participated in the Ecumenical Vigil Prayer at St. Peter Square in the Vatican. The Taizé community invited religious leaders to this ecumenical prayer in preparation for the Synod of Catholic Bishops.

His Holiness was accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Mor Augeen Al Khoury Nemat, Patriarchal Secretary. Their Holinesses: Pope Francis, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, His Grace Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, and their Beatitudes: Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan, Greek Catholic Melkite Patriarch of Antioch and All the East Joseph Absi,and Coptic Catholic Patriarch Ibrahim Ishaak, as well as representatives of other churches participated in the prayer.
