Evening Prayer at St. Mary Church in White Plains – New York

On October 6, 2023, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II presided over the evening prayer at St. Mary Church in White Plains – New York.

His Holiness was received by his Eminence Mor Theethose Yeldho, Archbishop of the Malankara Archdiocese of North America, and the clergy of the Archdiocese.

He was accompanied by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Silvanos Ayyub, Metropolitan of the USA, Canada and Europe Region of the Knanaya Archdiocese, Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Patriarchal Vicar for the Archdiocese of Eastern USA, and Mor Augeen Al Khoury Nemat, Patriarchal Secretary.

At the end of the prayer, His Eminence Mor Theethose Yeldho welcomed his Holiness and the accompanying delegation. He thanked him for his visit which enlightened the lives of the faithful of the parish.

In his speech, His Holiness thanked the Lord for this opportunity to visit St. Mary Church in White Plains, remembering how this parish was formed and the challenges it faced. His Holiness emphasized that, when the parishioners unite and collaborate together, they are able to build their community and allow it to grow, preserving thus the faith that our predecessors have dearly protected and our martyrs shed their blood to keep and to transmit it to us.
